The MLK Day of Service this past Monday provided an opportunity to get together and help improve the Underwood Hills Park. A small group of neighbors and teens contributed in a big way in just 2 short hours. We trimmed bushes by the park entrance, removed branches from a downed tree, and cleared brush along the lower field highway wall, filling up 6 large lawn bags and a few large piles the city will remove. We also picked up 2 large bags of litter and removed a broken soccer goal, a shopping cart, tire, and car battery from the lower field. Many thanks to Steven and Nelson Lindsay, Shane and Ryan Murphy, Kristen Hassell, Greta Tibus, Alex Klingsoehr and Malik Harris from North Atlanta High School for coming out and helping make a difference! UHNA is registered on myvoluntier.com for student Community Service Hours.
We'll be planting trees and shrubs in our park with Trees Atlanta on Saturday February 4th, and need volunteers. Please consider giving back to the neighborhood by signing up here: (Trees Atlanta singup) Comments are closed.
