Det. Kevin Leonpacher Atlanta PD / Underwood Hills Patrol This matter is on NPU_D agenda for November 28.
The Applicant is seeking a variance to reduce the set back from 35 feet to 15 feet. Details in the document at this link. Please direct any questions or comment to UHNA NPU-D Rep Evan Nason email: [email protected] ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS for Class #45 2024- Atlanta Police Department Citizen Police Academy11/1/2023
[this matter was deferred to Jan 2024 a the Nov 9 hearing] Long-term residents might recall previous attempts to develop a car wash on a site between Chattahoochee and Defoor Aves. Aside from the traffic nightmare that would ensue, such proposals are completely contrary to the letter and intent of Planning Overlays that apply, going back as far as 2006. Nevertheless City of Atlanta staff granted administrative approval to such a proposal, without any rationale or explanation to justify the amendments it would require. UHNA are supporting NPU-D in appealing this decision along with other neighborhoods, and interested parties are encouraged to attend the Atlanta Board of Zoning Adjustment hearing November 9 2023. A copy of the letter of support is below. You can learn more of the previous proposals here. Board of Zoning Adjustment public hearings are held in the City Council chambers on the second floor of the Atlanta City Hall annex at 55 Trinity Avenue, beginning at 12:00 p.m. Members of the public are allowed to attend but are not allowed to participate or present during briefing. Citizens may also email documents for inclusion into the official record by submitting such materials to [email protected] by 10:00 am on the date of the public hearing. More details on the Board here. |
