In the last two-week period (Jan 29 – Feb 11), 43 incidents were reported in Beat 204. Of those, only one was reported in the area we patrol.

On February 17, 2022, a resident on Woodland Hills reported an incident via APD’s online citizen reporting system. The resident was attempting to sell something via Facebook Marketplace and detected a very high potential for fraud during the transaction. I have read the report. and he was absolutely right. Hats off  to the resident for being cautious about this transaction and pulling out before falling victim to the scammer!

Significant Incidents

• Robbery with Weapon:
  • On February 9, 2022, a resident of the apartments at 1824 Defoor Ave attempted to sell his iPhone 11 via Facebook Marketplace.  A car with three individuals arrived for the transaction.  One of the men brought the phone back to the suspect vehicle.  The driver then pointed a pistol at the seller / resident as he drove away from the scene without paying for the phone.  This incident is under investigation by the Robbery Unit.
