Security Patrol Update Jan. 15–28

2/14/2022

In the last 2-week period (Jan 15–28), 36 incidents were reported in Beat 204. Of those, none occurred in the area we patrol. One incident involving Internet-based fraud was reported by a resident. We have recently received some new complaints about an Airbnb on Ridgeway Avenue. We have advised residents to call 911 and then the patrol phone for any drug use, loud noise or other disturbances. We’ve emphasized the importance of documenting these complaints through 911 instead of waiting until the next UH Patrol shift begins so that supporting evidence/documentation can be retrieved in the event a complaint is filed with Airbnb directly by residents. The patrol will continue to monitor the situation.

A breakdown of other activity reported in the area:

Theft from Motor Vehicle (23F)12
Destruction/Damage/Vandalism of Property Under $500 (290)4
Destruction/Damage/Vandalism of Property Over $500 (290)4

  • Aggravated Assault: On January 16, 2022, at about 1:15 am, occupants of a black pickup participated in a drive-by shooting at the Central Mobile Home Village at 1505 Chattahoochee Avenue.  No injuries were reported. The shooting wasn't reported until about 30 hours later. The incident is under investigation by the Aggravated Assault Unit.
