A stalwart crew of volunteers tackled mountains of invasive woody plants in UH Park last Saturday. Removal of invasive plants is essential to the health of our Certified Wildlife Habitat. Without it, native species are smothered and choked to extinction, leaving no food or homes for native animals. Most of these exotic interlopers are escapees from gardens, sold as “quick fixes” by local nurseries. You can join the next Forest Restoration, Saturday March 12, 9am-12noon, signup at treesatlanta.org.
