From the NPU-D meeting on Tuesday night, I have this to report:
On Tuesday, September 27 (always the 4th Tuesday at 7:30), NPU-D had its first joint in-person/virtual meeting, since covid, at the Agape Center. There were only 6-7 in-person attendees but quite a few virtual attendees, particularly from the Hills Park Neighborhood. The primary item on the agenda of relevance to all NPU-D neighborhoods was the yearly approval of the by-laws. Three amendments, primarily of a clarifying nature, had been proposed and vetted at earlier meetings. Now, on this night for voting the bylaws up or down with or without amendments, there was much questioning of the amendments by the Hills Park residents. When the vote was taken, all in-person attendees voted to approve the bylaws with amendments. However, the full vote was to approve the bylaws without the added amendments. I was an in-person attendee. ________________________________________________________________________________ You can Keep up to date with neighborhood events via our calendar ; https://www.underwoodhills.org/calendar.html Simply click on an event, then "+Add to Calendar" to include in your own schedule of events. Please be sure to report all incidents to 911 In the last 2-week period (Sep 10 - 23), 54 incidents were reported in Beat 204. Of those, 1 occurred in the area we patrol. A resident on Seaboard Ave filed a report online regarding identity theft. On September 16th, The patrol was made aware of a prowler that was spotted in various areas in Underwood Hills. The subject was described as a black male approximately 45 years old. He was in a dark colored Camry with an Illinois tag of FP67745. That tag doesn't seem to be registered in Illinois. I researched the license plate through other police reports and found a similar prowling incident in Cobb County on 9/13. Residents are encouraged to call 911 if this guy is seen again. Most of the sightings were only shared on Nextdoor - not with 911. A breakdown of other activity reported in the area: Gardening is the new high-performance sport in Underwood Hills! Volunteers recovered 2 feet of concrete steps covered by overgrown creeper, and trimmed hedges and weeded the mulched area near the climbing frame, freeing up another 6 feet of play area. We're planning another event October 22 to tackle the lower playing field.
