Underwood Hill's very own Citizen Science team conducted the monthly water quality testing of the stream in Underwood Hills Park Saturday February 26.
The results are now published in Adopt-a-stream's national database. You can View graphs etc https://aas.gaepd.org/Site.aspx?id=6932 In this stream, bacteria is reasonably low, water is clear and odorless, but there's a high amount of brown algae, probably the result of runoff from ongoing construction upstream. Underwood Hills AaS conducts quarterly Macroinverbrate sampling (hunting for water bugs ;-) and monthly Chemical and Bacterial tests. Email: [email protected] if you'd like to participate. Kids love the Macroinvertebrates! Comments are closed.
