The deadline for feedback is Friday, July 18, by EOD. for questions contact ADELINE COLLOT (she/her) | Program Director (Planning & Capital Projects) upper westside improvement district CELL | 404.804.1365 ![]() A case demonstrating the benefits of familiarising oneself with the NPU system, even if there's nothing directly impacting you now. From UHNA NPU-D Rep Ms Eva Nason; At the last NPU-D a huge case for the Bolton Neighborhood had 240 voting members signing in virtually (maybe a record). Those for whom the vote went the wrong way couldn't seem to sign off so, at midnight, some nice guy said the meeting needed to be over so Miss Eva could sign off! It was a case of tearing down 2 R4 neighborhood older homes on La Dawn Lane in order to put in (I think) 30+ MR-3 townhomes. It just so happened those wanting to retain R4 motioned to deny requiring a vote which turned out in their favor, and all those folks who had come on behalf of the rezoning for MR-3 townhomes didn't have a chance to have their voices heard and were pretty unhappy and not very knowledgeable about how the voting system works. If you'd like to be more informed NPU University has free resources available. If you have a something coming up that impacts you please reach out to UHNA leadership. There's a vast wealth of experience in the neighborhood! From friend of the neighborhood Julian Bene-
There’s a runoff for a Public Service Commission (PSC) seat on July 15, 2025 Early voting dates July 7‒11. You can vote in the runoff on July 15 unless you voted in the Republican primary in June. Early voting locations are few: only 4 in Fulton. Voting place will be your usual Election Day spot, double-check on mvp.sos.ga.gov. Absentee applications closed July 4th. Why vote? The PSC is supposed to regulate Georgia Power for the Public. Instead, the current PSC has:
![]() UHNA's illustrious Social Chair Shane Murphy has announced the need to step back from coordinating Playgroup going forward- "Happy summertime everybody! > > I’ve made the difficult decision to step back from coordinating Underwood Hills playgroup. I’m now working at my office five days a week and come August, both my kids will arrive home after 5pm. I’m happy to advise and help any interested leaders. > > If you or anyone you know may be interested, please contact me. > > Shane" Since Shane taking on Playgroup it's expanded to one of the major social and networking events in the neighborhood, occurring nearly every Friday during school term, with a beautiful colorful banner and refreshments, with reimbursement available from UHNA. Shane can be reached via [email protected] or <[email protected]> Thank you to our lovely volunteers, keeping the new plants watered as needed. The good thing about native plantings is that, once established they need very little care; no fertilizers, pesticides or irrigation (unless in a severe drought). And they feed and shelter the birds, bees and bugs that keep things going!
Although the various species flower at different times, there's quite a few out now, so go check'em out. In the last 2-week period (May 31 - June 13), 30 incidents were reported in Beat 204.
