The Playground Arts Activation project, supported by a grant from the City of 
Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Cultural Affairs, is complete! The design by neighbor Jen Reves incorporates elements from children's art workshops conducted earlier in the year.

As previously advised, scheduled sewer works are going on in our area.

this event, and our Social Chair, Chris LeCraw, has done an outstanding job of
making this a memorable event for everybody. This year will be his 10th
anniversary of organizing it- a true reason to celebrate together.

The Summer Open Burn Ban runs from May 1 - September 30 and includes 54 counties in Georgia.
​The Open Burning Ban prohibits citizens and businesses from burning yard and land-clearing debris. This rule is in addition to the year-round state ban on the burning of household garbage.

In Atlanta, during the summer months, the ozone in the air we breathe can reach unhealthy levels. Ozone is formed when volatile organic compounds and nitrogen oxides react in the presence of sunlight. A major source of these pollutants is the burning of fuels and other combustible materials. The Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) has identified open burning as a significant contributor of the pollutants that form ozone. Therefore, open burning in metro Atlanta and the surrounding areas must be restricted during the summer months. Beginning May 1st and ending September 30th, EPD’s Open Burning Ban will be enforced in 54 Georgia counties.

To all those who participated in the April 17 UHNA Special Meeting and the April 25 NPU-D meeting I have wanted to let you know the status of the rezoning case for 1692 Springer Street, Z-23-17.

The chairperson of NPU-D, Jim Martin, received information that this case has been deferred from being heard by the Atlanta Zoning Review Board (ZRB) on May 11 until a June ZRB hearing.  This was presumably due to confusion over which parcels owned by the applicant were included in the rezoning application.

As the UHNA NPU-D Rep, I shall continue to keep track of the progress of this case and let you know of developments.
