The Fulton County Commission will convene their regular meeting that will include the final hearing on the proposed millage rate increase of 12.49% (from $8.87 per $1,000 of assessed property value to $9.87). It is imperative that we show up for this meeting and ask the Fulton County Commissioners NOT TO INCREASE their millage. The meeting will be held in the Assembly of the Fulton County Government Center, 141 Pryor Street, SW 30303 You must sign up to speak during public comment. Rules For Public Speaking At The Fulton County Commission Meeting The meeting starts at 10 am. In-person attendees can sign in until 10 am to speak at public comment. You will fill out a speaker card with your name, address, email, and purpose for speaking. You then state if you want to speak about the millage rate during public comment for agenda items or during the public hearing. The meeting opens at 10 am with approval of the agenda and minutes, proclamations, approval of the consent agenda, etc. Then they move into public comment for agenda items. Each person speaks for up to 2 minutes, and the total time for public comment is 1 hour. However, the Board can approve to extend the time and in-person comments goes first, then online comments. After public comment on agenda items, the Commission will move into the public hearing. People can sign up to speak at the public hearing up until the public hearing begins. Each person may speak for up to 2 minutes, and there is no limit on the total amount of time allotted for public comment during the public hearing.
