"The current commissioners know you’re not paying attention – that’s why they’re shifting the cost of Georgia’s rapidly growing data centers onto YOUR bill.
While you’re stuck paying $0.21 per kWh for electricity, data centers are only paying $0.05.  That’s just not fair.
The PSC has SIGNIFICANT regulatory authority and could protect residential customers like me and you, but they’re simply not doing it.

1745 DeFoor Place, as the address given in the newsletter about the homicide/shooting and by APD, is the Dynasty Event Lounge."

Preliminary Information: On 6/14/25, around 12:42am, officers responded to 1745 Defoor Place NW in reference to persons shot. Upon arrival, officers located two male victims. One victim was pronounced deceased on scene by EMS personnel. The second male victim was transported to the hospital, last reported to be in stable condition.

Violations cited.
1. Outdoor amusement enterprises, exhibits, entertainments, meetings, displays or sales area
operating without a special administrative permit.
2. Illegal signs-erected without obtaining a permit.
3. Building structures erected without a building permit.

Significant Incidents

1. Robbery - On May 17, 2025, a woman assaulted a cashier during a shoplifting attempt at 1715 Howell Mill Road.  She fled before the arrival of police.  The incident is under investigation by the Larceny Unit.  This incident is classified as a Robbery, not an "Armed Robbery", since the theft involved the use of force.

1809 Defoor Avenue NW was heard by the In-Rem Review Board on July 25, 2024. The owner was given 30-days to comply the structure and no attempts were made; as a result, the property was awarded to a City Demolition Contractor on Jan 9, 2025.
Neighbor Maria Schiffgens provides this update;

The project has been awarded to a City demolition contractor and the contractor has received permits. The contractor will start the abatement for Asbestos this week and shortly after began demolition. Please allow at 45-days from today for this project to be fully completed.
