The Department of Watershed Management (DWM) has contracted Rockdale Pipeline to perform Sewer Group 4 (SG4) Small Diameter Rehabilitation - Contract B. This work is being done to improve the City of Atlanta’s sewer system within your community. Council Districts: #2 Amir Farokhi; #3 Byron Amos; #5 Liliana Bakhtiari; #6 Alex Wan; #7 Howard Shook; #8 Mary Norwood; #9 Dustin Hillis. Sewer Sheds: NCRO7_08; NCRO7_08B; PTC22A1A; PTC20B; PTC21; PTC 30; PTC 31; PTC 39; PTC 37A; PRC05B; PRC05C. NPU’s: B, C, D, E, K, L, M and N. SG4-B is the renewal and rehabilitation of selected portions of the City of Atlanta sewer collection system, as designated by the engineer throughout the course of the initial Closed Circuit Television Video (CCTV). CCTV sewer inspection refers to the process of using a camera to see inside of pipelines, sewer lines, or drains. CCTV cameras allow professionals to see the root causes of sewer issues without needing to conduct more invasive methods like digging or removing walls or flooring to gain access to plumbing. The CCTV investigative work is scheduled to begin in April 2023, and last approximately 10 – 14 weeks and as needed throughout the contract, weather permitting. Operational hours for the crew members will be Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Construction work is tentatively scheduled to begin during the 2nd quarter of 2023. Due to the nature of the construction work that will be done to repair and rehabilitate sections of the sewer line, there will be lane closures and road closures involved in this project. Additional notification will be given prior to the closures and construction work beginning. ![]() We’d like to extend an invitation for you to join Phase Two of Crosstown Conversations. Our Phase One Townhalls were foundational, informational and hyper-local in nature, we are looking for a more interactive experience and diverse experience in Phase Two, as we assess Policy Recommendations and opinions on policing and the need for policing in parts of the city where you do not live. We will host two sessions of our Phase II Crosstown Conversations. The first will be April 27th, 2023, at The Little 5 Points Center for Arts and Recreation at 6pm. The second event will be held at Paradise Baptist Church on May 10th, 2023, at 6pm. If you are interested in continuing this conversation and working toward policy changes that make Atlanta as a whole, and your community particularly, safer and fairer for everyone, please register here. As with our Phase One townhall, all attendees will receive $50 for attending. However, as a Returning Attendee, you will be eligible for a $25 bonus gift card incentive. And if you bring a friend with you or refer a friend who attends a different session, you will be eligible for an additional $25 digital gift card for a maximum $100!!! We hope to see you all there! A Special General Meeting has been called to consider a proposed rezoning of 1692 Springer St NW before the next NPU-D meeting. A copy of the application appears below. Participation is important because this rezoning case could fundamentally impact the single-family core of Underwood Hills. As UHNA NPU-D Rep Eva Nason explains; "A vote will be taken regarding the application to rezone the first Springer St. lot coming from Defoor (1692 Springer St.) from residential to commercial zoning. The house on this lot has been used in a commercial way for some time, but this has been a "grandfathered" use and cannot be used as a precedent for allowing other lots on Springer St. to be commercially rezoned. Also, so long as it remains residentially zoned, it cannot set a precedent for allowing the first lots on other residential streets in Underwood Hills to be commercially rezoned. There will be 2 additional, increasingly important meetings at which a vote will be taken on the Springer St. Rezoning Application, Z-23-017. The first of these is the NPU-D meeting on Tuesday, April 25 at the Agape Community Center at 2210 Marietta Blvd. (this is the vote to which the city's Zoning Review Board pays attention and the NPU-D meeting is a hybrid meeting). Then, the decision to rezone or not is made by the Zoning Review Board at City Hall in an evening meeting on May 4 or 11. Citizens may attend this meeting and stand up to oppose or approve and each side is given a very limited time in which to speak. Letters regarding Z-23-017 may be sent to: City of Atlanta/Department of Planning and Community Development 55 Trinity Ave, SW 30303." Details of the meetings including zoom links and associated documents are on the UHNA Calendar From Antwan Harris Sr. Public Information Specialist/Construction Concierge City of Atlanta | Department of Transportation "This notice is to inform you of a parking permit program to be implemented on Forrest Street NW between Howell Mill Rd and Berkley Avenue NW in Berkley Park Neighborhood. Attached is a project update with information regarding the program." ![]() One of the reasons UHNA Playgroup holds the Easter Egg Hunt in March is that so many families take the Spring Break opportunity to travel. It's pretty quiet around the neighborhood at the moment! But, if you're in town this weekend looking for something to do, UHNA sponsor Your 3rd Spot has a special Easter celebration planned; The details:
